Treaty of Windsor
On May 9, 1386, the Treaty of Windsor was reached. It established the Anglo-Portuguese alliance.
The Anglo-Portuguese relationship refers to the two kings’ solid, binding, and everlasting bond.
It was cemented by King John I of Portugal’s (House of Aviz) marriage to Philippa of Lancaster, daughter of John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster.
